Rare color runners

Runners are my  SPECALITY !!! I have top quality pairs in a variety of rare and not so rare colors, all from Holdereads top quality matings...they come in white, chocolate, trout, emry penciled, fairy fawn, saxony, and new colors are being add with each hatching season. Eggs are sold in mixed lots at this time of year to give you a good variety. Nothing beats a line of these little "penguins" marching around your backyard or farm !!!

Aylesburys

A large breed duck developed in the 1800's in the "vale of Aylesbury", renouned for their white skin, and unusual pink bill, also for their large size, ability to produce eggs in the winter months, fast growth, light bone, and high percentage of mild flavored meat. The Aylesbury is considered critical on American Livestock Breeds Conservancy largely due to the popularity of the pekin as a meat bird in the last century, and more breeders are needed. With it's extereme deep keel, unusualy long, straight pink bill, and slow gentle demeanor, the Aylesbury would make anunusual and productive addition to any backyard or farmstead. Call Ducks

Call ducks are a bantam breed of duck developed in the 1800's for their small size and ability to "call" in wild ducks for hunters with the hens loud quack. They come in a variety of colors... butterscotch being our favorite, and similar to ths saxony coloration of larger breeds. My calls are from top quality lines and will produce anywhere from pet to show quality offspring. My senior hen won BOV and our senior drake won RBOV at the greater California poultry show in Feb 05'. Watch for top quality grey call ducks in the up-coming season.

Silkie Ducks

Rare little ducks, with soft silkie feathers similar to that of a silkie dove, yet still waterproof !!! First bred by Derrel Sherraw of pensylvania, they come in white, black, dusky and mallard colors. Right now I have only blacks, but will be getting more from Holderreads this spring.

Muscovys

I have Linda Enger to thank for my beautifull black and chocolate muscovys. Muscovys are truly a duck of a different feather, with their ability to fly (though they never roam far from their dinner !) hissing and tail wagging instead of quacking, and the red caruncles, more pronounced in the males, these birds are truly unique. They are a large bird that is good for the table, having a milder taste than other duck breeds, and mothers that are excelent broodys . There is not enough good I can say about these birds.

Sebastopol and Pomeranian Geese

Since I dont have all the pictures I would like of my birds yet, I will list both of these breeds together. My sebsastopols come from top bloodlines and have excelent type with curly feathers galore !!! These birds origionaly came from the Ukranian seaport Sevastopol, and they were bred for their luxurious long curly feathers which have exceptional insulating, and cusioning properties. My sebastopols are the tamest of all my waterfowl, and my children can play with these birds with out fear of getting bitten

Pomeranian geese are from the Pomerania region south of the Baltic Sea, some of the best birds still come from Germany and Poland. Currently I have buff and grey saddleback, and am working on improving the color and type on the buffs.
